Warren Casey, PhD
Director, Strategic Partnerships at NIEHS / Division of Translational Toxicology

Dr. Casey is an accomplished scientist and strategic leader currently serving in the NIH Office of the Director, where he is supporting the establishment of the Office of Research Innovation, Validation, and Application (ORIVA). ORIVA coordinates NIH-wide efforts to develop, validate, and scale non-animal methods and acts as a hub for interagency collaboration and regulatory translation for public health protection.
Dr. Casey serves as Executive Director of ICCVAM, where he leads modernization of U.S. safety assessment practices and drove creation of the “Strategic Roadmap for Establishing New Approaches to Evaluate the Safety of Chemicals and Medical Products in the United States,” an effort that inspired FDA and EPA initiatives and has been adopted globally.
He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology and has previously held several leadership roles at NIEHS, including Chief of Predictive Toxicology and Biomolecular Screening Branches and Director of Strategic Partnerships.
