In July 2025, the International Collaboration on Cosmetics Safety (ICCS) released
Best Practice Guidance Document – Skin Sensitization Assessment: Using New Approach Methods for Substances in Cosmetics and Personal Care Productson the use of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for skin sensitization assessment. The guidance document has been positively received by regulators and safety assessors as a key step toward consistent, evidence-based, and animal-free evaluations of cosmetic ingredients and personal care products.
This webinar continues that progress by focusing on practical implementation. Through real-world examples, we will walk through how defined approaches under OECD Guideline 497 (the 2 out of 3 (2o3), the Integrated Testing Strategy (ITS), and the SARA-ICE model) can be applied in regulatory risk assessment to support robust decision-making without the use of animals.
This will launch the NAMs in Practice: ICCS Best Practice Guidance Webinar Series with this first webinar - Skin Sensitization: Safety Assessment Using NAMs for Substances in Cosmetics and Personal Care Products.
ICCS anticipates hosting additional webinars to accompany upcoming Best Practice Guidance documents.
Webinar Details
We are pleased to announce an implementation-focused ICCS webinar. The session will provide practical, real-world application of the ICCS BPG workflow using OECD GL 497 defined approaches (2o3, ITS, and SARA-ICE).
Thursday, April 9, 2026
1:00 – 4:30 PM CET
Format: Virtual | Free to Attend
Speakers
We are joined by speakers from ICCS member companies who will share their first-hand experience applying these approaches in real-world safety assessments. Their practical insights, drawn directly from implementation, provides valuable perspective on how the ICCS BPG workflow is being used in practice.
