Erin Hill - ICCS President and CEO

INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION ON COSMETICS SAFETY

Erin Hill brings more than 30 years of leadership advancing the global transition to animal-free safety assessment, with a career defined by building credible science, trusted institutions, and durable regulatory pathways for New Approach Methodologies (NAMs).

As Chief Executive Officer of the International Collaboration on Cosmetics Safety (ICCS), Erin has guided the organization from early formation into a globally recognized center of excellence for regulatory-ready, animal-free safety assessments. Under her leadership, ICCS has mobilized a worldwide scientific and regulatory community, delivering guidance and frameworks that are actively shaping how regulators evaluate safety without animal testing. ICCS is now widely regarded as a trusted partner to regulatory authorities across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, supporting confidence in NAMs and next-generation risk assessment (NGRA) approaches.

Erin has driven ICCS’ multi-year Roadmap and executed major human and environmental health initiatives while strengthening global engagement with regulators and standard-setting bodies. She has positioned ICCS as a leader in international harmonization through foundational work at the OECD, publication of industry Best Practice Guidance, establishment of a globally respected Scientific Advisory Committee, and expanded scientific credibility via peer-reviewed publications and cross-sector collaborations. Under her leadership, ICCS has grown its global footprint across five continents, reinforcing its role as a convening platform where science translates into regulatory use.

Before joining ICCS, Erin co-founded the Institute for In Vitro Sciences (IIVS) in 1997 and served as its President, helping establish one of the most influential nonprofit organizations dedicated to advancing non-animal testing methods worldwide. In 2010, she co-founded the American Society for Cellular and Computational Toxicology (ASCCT), which has since become the leading scientific society in North America advancing animal-free approaches across industries and regulatory agencies. Across her career, she has served on numerous boards, advisory committees, and international initiatives focused on modernizing safety assessment and reducing reliance on animal testing.

Erin is widely respected for her ability to bridge science, policy, and implementation by building trust with regulators, empowering scientific communities, and accelerating the global adoption of human-relevant safety assessment approaches.
