Endocrine Disruptors: Collaboration with Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Under the European Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals (PARC) to Assess Methodologies Used for Endocrine Activity Evaluation of Cosmetic Ingredients and Other Chemicals.
Objective
The objective of this project is to establish a partnership with the In Vitro
Toxicology and Dermato-Cosmetology group (IVTD) of the Vrije University of Brussels (VUB), and the ICCS Endocrine Disruptors WG by addressing the suspected endocrine disruption activity attributed to a few chemicals (up to 3) using only In Silico
and In Vitro
approaches. This will include identifying the chemicals to work on; identifying In Vitro
assays to address the endocrine disruptive potential of these chemicals, understanding whether these assays are fit for purpose for endocrine active substances, and determining if the data from these assays could be used to build a safety dossier.
